In Vastu Shastra texts, Bhojanshala i.e. kitchen is considered very special. The astrological treatise Brihatsamhita of Varahmihira states that the kitchen of the house should be between east and south. Apart from this, according to the Vastumanjari Granth, special attention is also paid to the directions kept in the kitchen items such as stoves, water, grains and other food items.

According to Pandit Ganesh Mishra, an astrologer and architectural expert from Kashi, the kitchen in any house and the things kept there have a direct effect on the people living in that house. Also, if there is a defect in the kitchen, the people living in the house, especially the women of the house, are constantly bothered by diseases. As well as the clutter attached to the kitchen can also reduce the age. If there is no defect in the house connected with the kitchen then prosperity comes in the house as well as the health of the family members remains good.

Agnidev resides in the south-east
Agnidev resides in the south-east direction of any house. That is why in Vastushastra this angle is called Agni angle. Meals cooked in this direction are considered good for health. So that the age of the people living in the house increases. In addition to this, it is mentioned in the Brihatsamhita Granth of astrology that the people living in that house are also financially prosperous as there is a kitchen in this direction.

According to Vastu scriptures, Venus is the lord of the fire corner. Venus is considered to be helpful in preparing food in many ways. According to the Mahabharata, Padma and Vishnu Puranas, utensils used for cooking and eating in the kitchen should not be broken. Meals should face east or north. Meals should be served while sitting in the kitchen. In addition, according to this scripture, one should never sit in the dark and eat.
