Building Jharkhand’s Future: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains connecting Jharkhand with major cities across the country, giving a new shape to India’s transport infrastructure. On September 15, PM Modi virtually inaugurated these advanced trains from Tatanagar, expanding (Building Jharkhand’s Future) the reach of India’s semi-high-speed rail network. The new routes-Tatanagar-Patna, Deoghar-Varanasi and Tatanagar-Berhampur-will significantly improve inter-state and intra-state connectivity.
The Tatanagar-Patna Vande Bharat Express, running six days a week, will complete the journey in about seven hours. The Deoghar-Varanasi route, connecting two major pilgrimage sites, will further boost religious tourism and improve Jharkhand’s rail infrastructure. This crucial infrastructure development is one of the many initiatives taken by the Modi-led central government aimed at transforming Jharkhand’s connectivity, industry and overall development.
In contrast, while the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government has struggled to reap the full benefits of these projects, the BJP has positioned itself as the party leading Jharkhand to a new era of progress and prosperity.
Modi Government’s Visionary Infrastructure Revolution in Jharkhand
The Modi administration has focused on developing infrastructure, reshaping Jharkhand’s economic landscape, and enhancing connectivity both domestically and internationally. Railway infrastructure in Jharkhand has grown significantly during the tenure of the Modi government.
The introduction of Vande Bharat Express trains on routes such as Ranchi-Patna and Ranchi-Howrah has reduced travel time, facilitating business, education and personal travel. Projects such as the renovation and electrification of the Ranchi-Lohardaga-Tori railway line have improved freight and passenger efficiency. The doubling of important lines and modernization of stations under the Amrut Bharat Station Yojana have laid the groundwork for Jharkhand’s future as a logistics and transit hub.
Airport Development: Connecting Jharkhand to the World
The inauguration of Deoghar Airport in 2022 proved to be a milestone for Jharkhand’s aviation sector. Serving religious tourists visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham will also boost tourism and local businesses. Upcoming projects such as Bokaro and Dumka airports will further integrate Jharkhand into India’s aviation network, creating employment opportunities and improving the socio-economic structure of the state.
State of the future: BJP’s vision for Jharkhand
As the main opposition party, the BJP is set to lead the upcoming elections in Jharkhand. The transformational work done by the central government under Narendra Modi presents a clear blueprint for Jharkhand’s progress. While the JMM government has not fully utilised these initiatives, the BJP is set to accelerate development.
