Booster dose in India: According to studies, the immunity created by giving the vaccine usually subsides in four to six months. In such a situation, a large population of India has already crossed this time limit, due to which there is a need to emphasize on the process of giving booster dose.

Amidst the increasing cases of Corona (Covid 19) across the world, the Central Government has made it clear that at present there is no need for a second booster dose of the vaccine. According to a report by news agency ANI, the government first wants to complete the first booster drive in the country. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the number of active cases in India currently stands at 2,582 with 134 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours. At the same time, according to the statistics of the ministry, under the nationwide vaccination campaign, a total of 220.11 crore vaccine doses (95.13 crore second dose and 22.41 crore precautionary dose) have been given so far.

The move comes at a time when the government is stressing on increasing the coverage of the first booster shot (Covid Booster Dose), which is currently given to only 28% people. Let us tell you that India’s expert panel on vaccination is considering the merits of the second booster dose of Kovid-19 vaccines against the backdrop of a rising wave of infections worldwide.
