Australia vs South Africa: Marnus Labuschagne repairs helmet with Gas lighter in running match

Australia vs South Africa: Australia were left in splits by Marnus Labuschagne for yet another on-field gesture in the Sydney Test match against South Africa. Marnus Labuschagne while batting in the first innings gestured for a cigarette lighter from Australian dugout. This left his teammates and the commentators confused but they obliged to the request regardless.

As the commentators laughed and discussed Labuschagne’s history with odd gestures, the Australian batter proceeded to burn the insides of his helmet, seemingly to remove lose fragments that might be coming into his eyeline. The batter finished his repairs with the helmet and went about his way against the South Africa pace attack.

Labuschagne continued his form against the Proteas in the final Test match of the series. It was a testing innings from the batter, who had to face some quality fast bowling, but remained not out at 73 before bad light stopped play. The player had a close call against Marco Jansen when he edged the ball but the catch in the slips was deemed not out by the third umpire. Alongside Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja continued his love affair with Sydney and scored his individual half century.

Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne left the commentator in splits after he gestured for a lighter from the field. The dugout got confused but brought the lighter to the batter anyway after which he repaired his helmet.
