According to local media reports, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is currently in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has gone to Nepal to attend the wedding of former CNN correspondent Sumanima Udas. Her father Bhum Udas served as Nepal’s ambassador to Myanmar.

Gandhi arrived in Kathmandu on a Vistara Airlines flight at 4:40 pm. He was accompanied by three others at the Kathmandu airport. Sources added that Gandhi and his friends were staying at the Naxalite Kathmandu Marriott Hotel. Rahul Gandhi is in Kathmandu to attend the wedding of his Nepali friend Sumnima Udas.
According to reports, Sumnima Udas is getting married to Nima Martin Sherpa and a formal reception will be held on May 5 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Rahul Gandhi is staying with his friends at the Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu.
“We invited Rahul Gandhi to attend my daughter’s wedding,” said Bhim Udas, Sumanima’s father, who has also served as Nepal’s ambassador to Myanmar.
Former CNN correspondent Sumnima Nima is getting married to Martin Sherpa. The wedding ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday and a reception will be held on May 5 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Buddhism, the bride’s father Bhim told the Post.
They said some other Indian VVIPs have also arrived in Kathmandu for the wedding. Earlier, in August 2018, Rahul Gandhi visited Kathmandu on the way to Kailash Mansarovar, a famous pilgrimage site in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
